Caleta de Sebo

Caleta de Sebo

Caleta de Sebo is the largest and most populated town on La Graciosa, a small island to the north of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. It is the main entry and exit point of the island, as it is where the boats that connect La Graciosa with the rest of Lanzarote dock.

It consists of a cluster of white houses and sandy streets. Its main economic activities are fishing and tourism.

Architecturally, the town is notable for its parish church, the Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, also called Virgen del Mar, the patron saint of La Graciosa and Caleta de Sebo. Every July 16th, the island is adorned to celebrate the traditional maritime procession in honor of this revered figure.

Where is it

A Bit of History

Caleta de Sebo was born as a fishing village and, in fact, fishing remains one of its main sources of income. It was the first urban center of La Graciosa and, to this day, except for the dozens of summer houses in Pedro Barba, it remains the only place populated year-round. The streets of Caleta de Sebo are made of sand! All its houses are white and low-rise. A unique corner of the world.
