La Graciosa, a small paradise located in the Canary Islands, offers an idyllic escape for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty. However, reaching this remote island requires a journey by sea, as its heliport is reserved solely for emergencies. Here, we present the different ways to get to La Graciosa and how to plan your trip in the best possible way.

Before Departure

Before embarking on your journey to La Graciosa, make sure you are in Lanzarote, as this is where the maritime transport options to La Graciosa depart from. You can reach Lanzarote by plane, as it has an international airport: Lanzarote Airport - Arrecife.

Once in Lanzarote, head to the port of Órzola, located at the northern tip of the island. You can reach the port by taxi, local bus, or renting a car, depending on your preference and location on the island.

If you're heading directly from the airport to La Graciosa, note that the shipping company Líneas Romero offers a free transfer service from the airport to the port of Órzola.

Regular line from Órzola

The most common way to get to La Graciosa is by ferry from the port of Órzola in Lanzarote. The journey is short, lasting approximately 25-30 minutes. Several maritime companies offer this service; however, it's important to note that schedules may vary depending on the season and the company. It's recommended to check the schedules in advance and plan your trip early to ensure your spot on the ferry.

Watertaxi

For a quicker and more flexible option, the water taxi or aquataxi is an excellent alternative. These services allow you to travel from Órzola or Famara to any point in La Graciosa. Water taxis can be hired directly at the dock, offering an efficient way to reach the island quickly and comfortably.

This can be a suitable option if you're interested in going to Pedro Barba instead of Caleta de Sebo, or if you need to travel between islands outside of the regular ferry schedules.

Prices are higher than for regular boats, but if you're not a resident and are traveling with more people, it might be worth it.

Private Boats

If you prefer a more personalized experience, you can choose to arrive at La Graciosa on a private boat. Boats can anchor in the complete port of Caleta de Sebo or in one of the natural anchorages offered by the island. These anchorages are located in the three bays to the west of Caleta de Sebo: Playa Francesa (the most protected), Bahía del Salado, and Bahía de la Cocina. With sandy bottoms and depths ranging from 3 to 12 meters, these areas provide a safe place to anchor your boat and explore La Graciosa at your own pace.
