Playa del Salao is one of the most popular beaches in La Graciosa. Measuring almost 2 km in length, this beach has an average width of 20 meters between high and low tide. Its white sand and crystal-clear waters make it perfect for swimming, diving, snorkeling, and sunbathing.
You’ll find it just south of the village of Caleta de Sebo, right after Playa de la Laja. This beach is off the main tourist routes, making it ideal for those seeking a quiet day by the sea.
It’s important to note that Playa del Salao lacks services such as bars, restaurants, or public restrooms. Visitors are advised to bring enough water and food for the day. Sunscreen is also recommended, as the sun can be very intense in this area.
Playa del Salao is also a great spot for observing migratory birds, especially during the spring and autumn months. During these times of the year, the beach becomes a resting and feeding point for many bird species heading south or north, depending on the season.
Camping in the ‘El Salao’ area is free, but a permit must be obtained through the web site of the Autonomous Organization of National Parks.
The area is equipped with showers and restrooms.
